OBEGRÄNSAD Light Show

Your own show on the lamp.

IKEA made OBEGRÄNSAD, an LED wall lamp, with Swedish House Mafia in 2022. Its five built-in programs keep their own rhythm whatever is playing. In the app you draw frames on the lamp’s 16 × 16 grid, tap the music’s tempo and watch the show on your wall. It opens on the lamp in a dark room, lighting up the plaster around it.

Draw, then tap the beat.

A stroke keeps what its first cell became. Mirror, Ghost and Clear sit under the grid, with up to 16 frames. Beat sets the tempo by tapping, ±1 BPM, and which frame lands on which beat.
